I just had a cold/Flu and during that time.....?

I had a flu virus for 2 weeks started where I could not drive my car of even take a shower by myself my girlfriend had to hold me up, and hold a telephone to my head for me to talk on it. Then I just had all head congestion can't breathe through nose and sore throat. Now I have a cough and sometimes my throat would hurt not too bad and sometimes it wouldn't now I just got up at 3AM and noticed it hurts more towards my left side of my throat when I swallow or move my tounge up will this be temporary, WHy could this be? Anyway to cure it?
