Do Earrings Cause Acne?

Hi, I have had moderate acne in the past. Now it is clearing up and I think my acne stage is over. I want to get my ear pierced but I don't want the acne to return. I have heard ear piercing is directly connected to skin problems, IS THIS TRUE? Should I get the earring? Please and Thank You for your feedback. I am also planning to get it done by my pediatric doctor so a sterile needle is probably not an issue. :D
